Studio Basic

The Studio Basic reads less like a room and more like a small apartment. It opens straight off the corridor onto your own entrance, and the bathroom, the desk and the pantry counter are yours alone. You can go a week without sharing anything except the lift.

It comes with a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom, a desk large enough to actually work at, a smart television with streaming, and a counter with a fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee maker. What it does not have is a stove, and that is deliberate: cooking of any scale happens in the communal kitchen.

There are twenty-five of these in the building, more than any other type, which is the only reason one is usually available at short notice. It rarely stays that way for long in August or January.
